WHAT I'M READING:
Making of a Classic: Pliny The Elder by Jeff Alworth. "When he designed Pliny, Vinnie Cilurzo demonstrated a future state for IPAs, when they manifested not just intensity, but the lush juiciness we now expect." Check out the fascinating history of one of the most important beers in American beer.
GLASSWARE I WANT TO SERVE WITH:
Kölsch tray & glasses set. I've always wanted a legit "Krantz" (the tray) and "stange" (pronounced like "ston-gah") set so I could serve kölsch like they do in Cologne.
BEER NAMES I'M NOW PRONOUNCING CORRECTLY:
German Beer Brands Pronounced Correctly (YouTube). Like me, you're definitely pronouncing some German beer names incorrectly. Feli from Germany is here to help.
SHOW I'M ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH:
The Midnight Gospel by Pendleton Ward ("Adventure Time") and comedian Duncan Trussell. This is almost certainly the most psychedelic show ever created. I absolutely adore it. Eat some edibles (or whatever) and give it a shot. Here's the trailer.
WHAT I WISH WAS KEEPING ME WARM:
St. Bernardus Christmas Sweater. I know we're all looking forward to spring right now, but it's still pretty damn cold in a lot of places. Also, I like getting something and then looking forward to wearing it months later, it makes it a special occasion. This comes to about $51 shipped to the US, so not a bad deal.
ALBUM I'M DIGGING:
Time Skiffs by Animal Collective (Spotify, a few tracks on YouTube). I just snagged some tickets to their tour later this year. Their older electronic leaning songs were beautiful. They've evolved, of course, and the new stuff is great.
Have a lovely weekend, y'all!
Chris
